Required Documents for NSFAS Applications in 2024
The following papers must be certified copies, and they cannot be more than three months old. Your documentation needs to be certified by the South African Police Service or the South African Post Office. If you are under 18 or over 18 but STILL DEPENDENT on your parent’s or guardian’s combined family income, the following also applies:
- 18 years old and possessing a verified copy of a South African identification card or birth certificate
- under 16 years old who do not have a green bar-coded ID or smart ID card, you must show a certified copy of your unabridged birth certificate.

- Access your myNsfas account.
