Does TUT Offer Degree in Teaching? Yes, TUT offers teaching degrees to teach students to teach in a variety of contexts, including as schools, vocational and technical institutions, and adult education centres. TUT’s Faculty of Education offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate education programmes, including Bachelor of Education (BEd) degrees in Foundation Phase Teaching, Intermediate Phase Teaching, Senior Phase and FET Teaching, as well as postgraduate degrees like the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and Master of Education (MEd).

TUT’s Faculty of Education also provides a Master of Education (MEd) curriculum that aims to give students with advanced knowledge and skills in the field of education. This curriculum is designed for those who already have teaching experience and want to expand their knowledge and abilities in order to progress their careers.

How Many Points Are Needed For Teaching At TUT?

For teaching programs at TUT, the minimum APS score required is 20 for a Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree.

 

TUT Teaching Corses Admission Requirements

  • National Senior Certificate (NSC) with a Bachelor and an average of 36%, with a minimum percentage of 50% in English.
  • Old Senior Certificate (Matric) with exemption and an average symbol D (Standard Grade) or E (High Grade) in English.

TUT General admission requirements for TUT

  • A pass mark in English at Senior Certificate level (minimum additional language; certain programmes may require first or home language status)
  • Each course has its own specific admission requirements.
  • Prospective students should note that the admission requirements of individual programmes could change from year to year.
