Mechanical Engineering:

Mechanical Engineering is one of the oldest and broadest engineering disciplines, which applies the principles of physics and materials science for analysis, design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. It is the branch of engineering that involves the production and usage of heat and mechanical power for the design, production, and operation of machines and tools.

The mechanical student will be trained to use principles of mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, materials science, and structural analysis, along with tools like computer-aided engineering and product lifecycle management to design and analyse manufacturing plants, industrial equipment and machinery, heating and cooling systems, transport systems, aircraft, watercraft, robotics, medical devices, weapons, and more. Civil Engineering:

Known for its outstanding reputation in research and training of the best engineers in the country, the Department of Civil Engineering continues to contribute to the advancement and preservation of civil industry in South Africa and across borders. Our graduates never go unnoticed and they are sought after locally and internationally. We have highly qualified lecturers, who are considered experts in all disciplines of civil engineering. Electrical Engineering:

In the Department of Electrical Engineering, our objective is to shape graduates who are inventive and highly skilled in becoming front-runners in their fields. We provide our students with exceptional groundwork in the codes of electrical engineering. From this base, they advance the aptitude to intellectualise, investigate and resolve difficulties. Together with our lecturers who are experts, we concentrate on working closely with industry so that the department remains at the forefront of electrical engineering developments internationally. Our Department encompasses three unique programmes in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering and Polymer Technology that students can select from.
