Role overview
The Global Engagement Manager is responsible for building and managing strategic relationships, strengthening ACLED public visibility, and coordinating high impact engagements across the Middle East and Asia. The role is equal parts strategy and execution. You will cultivate alliances, maintain a dynamic engagement calendar, prepare internal counterparts for external interactions, and represent ACLED in public forums. Success is measured by the quality of partnerships, visibility metrics, and the integration of ACLED analysis into the work of external stakeholders.
Core responsibilities
Strategic engagement and partnerships
- Map, prioritize, and pursue partner pipelines aligned to ACLED mission and multi year strategy.
- Structure and steward partnerships with multilaterals, governments, NGOs, think tanks, media, and private sector stakeholders that rely on conflict data.
- Co design joint initiatives that position ACLED content and tools within regional policy and programming.
External affairs and communications
- Implement audience specific PR and visibility plans for the Middle East and Asia.
- Coordinate releases, op eds, briefings, and digital moments to showcase ACLED analysis to decision makers.
- Equip internal analysts and leadership with talking points, decks, and media preparation.
Event management and cross functional coordination
- Own the external engagement calendar including conferences, roundtables, and high level meetings.
- Draft event briefs, manage logistics, and ensure follow up actions are captured and tracked.
- Work closely with Analysis, Data, and Operations teams to align messages and deliverables.
Measurement and strategic contribution
- Track partnership health, event outcomes, and media reach through clear metrics.
- Feed insights into organizational strategy and annual planning.
Qualifications and experience
- Fluency in Arabic and English with strong written and verbal communication in both.
- 7 to 10 years in public relations, partnerships, external affairs, or strategic communications.
- Demonstrated results elevating an organization profile and converting engagements into durable partnerships.
- Proven project management across complex, multi stakeholder environments.
- Regional networks and on the ground familiarity in the Middle East and Asia.
- Master degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, International Relations, or a related field.
- Comfortable in a distributed, remote model with the ability to travel up to 15 percent.
