If you’re a student at Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) and you have forgotten your student number and/or PIN, it can be quite frustrating as you need them to access important information such as your academic record and registration details. However, there’s no need to panic as the process of recovering your student number and PIN is relatively straightforward. In this response, I will provide you with a step-by-step guide on how to recover your TUT student number and PIN.

Why Is My TUT Student Portal Locked?

Your Tut student portal is blocked because you entered the wrong student number and pin three times. When you type in the wrong password or username three (3) consecutive times because you want to log into your account and access the information in it, your account will be blocked.

What Happens When You Forget Your TUT Student Number And Pin?

You cannot log into your Tut student portal when your profile is blocked. To be able to log into your account and access the information in it, you will need to reset your TUT Student Number and Pin.

How to Change/Reset TUT Student Number

Visit your Web Browser, Internet Explorer or Click open any browser
Type in https://ienabler.tut.ac.za
Choose an identification type(i.e ID Number, Passport Number, Email Address)
Enter your ID Number
Submit

How to Change/Reset TUT Student Portal Login Password

To manage your TUT password, please follow these steps:

Visit your Web Browser, Internet Explorer or Click open any browser
Type in https://tut4life.tut.ac.za
Click on “Reset My Password”
Enter your student and ID number then click on Submit
Now change your password to your own password. Please note that you have to follow all the Password Rules listed on the screen!
Now select a new password. Please note the following password criteria
Confirm your new password then wait for 2 minutes for the password to synchronise, and then you can access your email.

Password Criteria

Password must contain characters from four of the following categories:
- Uppercase characters (A through Z)
- Lowercase characters (a through z)
- Base 10 digits (0 through 9)
- Special characters: ~!@#$%^&*_-+=`|\(){}[]:;”‘<>,.?/
Password must contain at least 8 characters and a maximum of 16
Your student number may not appear in your password
Password may not consist of 4 consecutive numerical
Password must not contain the user’s account name (full name and surname)
