The government’s funding program NSFAS is currently accepting applications for scholarships for university and TVET College programs starting in 2024. NSFAS now fully covers eligible students’ university and college tuition and many more as a result of recent petitions for free higher education. The application end date is this month, though! How To Apply For NSFAS 2024 Online Application

After submitting your NSFAS application successfully, make sure to take the actions listed below.

Register for a MyNSFAS account.
After selecting the Apply option, enter the required information in the field.
Add the required files as required.
Click Submit to send your NSFAS application by email.

The NSFAS online submission portal will go active for the following academic year on September 28, 2023. The NSFAS application opening day is the sole day when applicants can view and submit award applications.

Documents Requested For NSFAS Applications

The following records require certified copies and cannot be more than three months old. Your documents needs to be certified by the South African Police Service or the South African Post Office. If you are under 18 or over 18 but STILL DEPENDENT on your parent’s or guardian’s combined family income, the following also applies:

a verified copy of your birth certificate or South African ID. the age of 18,
18, a certified copy of your unabridged birth certificate is required.
Neither an intelligent ID card nor a green bar-coded ID is valid for 16-year-olds.
IDs for the guardians or parents (death certificate)
IDs for the guardian or parents (and a death certificate if applicable).
If you are employed, you may provide proof of your own or your guardian’s yearly household income in the form of pay stubs or appointment letters. (This applies to all sources of income for all members of the family, including grants from SASSA, the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF), and retirement, life, disability, or other benefits received in a single payment or over the course of a year.)

Who Is Eligible For NSFAS Funding

Applicants must follow four essential requirements in order to be eligible for bursaries;

each and every South African
All SASSA award recipients are eligible for funding
applicants whose total annual household income is less than R350 000
A person with a disability: The household’s annual income cannot be more than R600,000.
students whose home income is not more than R122 000 yearly and who began their studies before 2024

NSFAS Application Submission Deadline In 2024

For 2024, NSFAS applications are now being accepted. By September 28, 2023, please submit your NSFAS financing application. The current application deadline for 2024 is January 31. Be sure to submit your application before the deadline because late submissions will not be accepted.

What Is Covered by the NSFAS

Downloading the NSFAS consent form is always free. The form is available for download in PDF format. and this is where it is.

The Method for Transmitting NSFAS Consent Forms

Visit the MyNSFAS portal and log in after submitting the form. You can upload any additional materials that are missing. Once the paperwork has been uploaded, choose “Submit Documents” from the menu.

The process is finished once all the documents have been uploaded and you have received the message “Outstanding application documents submitted successfully uploaded.”
The most frequent issue is that the paperwork is ambiguous, even though you filed them and there was still an issue. If you require assistance when taking images with your phone, stop by an NSFAS or a NYDA office.
